Antibiotic causing diaper rash

My son was diagnosed with strep throat on Friday.
He has been on Amoxicillian since then but it's causing him to have very loose stools so now he has diaper rash so bad he can't hardly sit on his bottom.
Do most antibiotics cause this? Is there something we cause use to help him?

Will he eat yogurt?? Sometimes that helps a little bit! I don't know.. I am sure other people will help more than that!!! Hope he is feeling better soon!!

Sometimes yeast infection can be mistaken as diaper rash. You might want to get that ruled out from a pedi. Antibiotics often cause yeast infection.

Hana is right. I would get it checked- however my little ones *always* get raging diarrhoea with amoxycillin

hi, any antibiotic can do this. You should let the doctor know right away and have it changed.

Hi, the yogurt thing is correct but maybe you should call the doc and see if there is something else you could give. Sometimes changing the antibiotic can fix this problem or maybe the doc may feel that enough antibiotic has been given up to now.
